> Choose the limits used by your household schedule summaries.

Parents manage these settings in **Family Dashboard**.

1. Find **Family schedule settings**.
2. Set **Maximum weekly hours**, such as `45` or `40.5`.
3. Choose whether **Consecutive time off** is enabled or disabled.
4. Choose **Save settings** and check for the saved confirmation.
5. Return to Calendar to review the updated summaries.

## Choose the time-off rule

* **Enabled:** the full day and half day of time off must be back to back. The calendar shows **Max Continuous Time Off** against the required duration.
* **Disabled:** the full day and half day can be together or separate within the week. A half day is a free morning before noon or a free afternoon after noon.

Enter hours in whole-minute increments. These settings change how the app evaluates the schedule; they do not create or move shifts.

**Next:** [Add a shift and assign it to your au pair](/schedule/add-shift).
